What is Qi Men Dun Jia 奇門遁甲?
Qi Men Dun Jia (loosely translated as Mystical Doors Escaping Technique) is a Chinese metaphysical study that was largely utilized exclusively by the kings and the generals in ancient China for warfare. If you ever learn about Chinese history, Zhuge Liang – a famous military strategist, also use qi men to achieve military supremacy in a battle. Qi Men is usually used as a supplementary technique to Feng Shui, for example, to refine Date Selection for moving house. In Hong Kong and Taiwan, many books of Qi Men Dun Jia focus on using it in illegal activities such as bank robberies, that is why a lot of Master do not teach Qi Men to their students as a “justification”.

‘Qi’ in Qi Men Dun Jia is literally translated as mysterious. ‘Men’ in Qi Men Dun Jia is translated as door. ‘Dun’ means hiding. ‘Jia’ in Qi Men Dun Jia is reference to the first Heavenly Stems ‘Jia Yang wood’ or the general. In Qi Men, your goal is to hide or find the Jia in the Qi Men chart. Qi Men quality outcome is much more specific. The positive resulf of Qi Men is quicker than Feng Shui which will sometimes take few weeks or few months but you cannot use Qi Men for stable and continuous outcome like Feng Shui. It’s important to recognize that there is no superiority or inferiority between Feng Shui and Qi Men Dun Jia.

Qi Men Dun Jia (QMDJ) has four different schools as follow:

  1. Qin-Dun which focus on cosmos aspect
  2. San Yuan Qi Men which is most commonly taught and learn
  3. Fa Qi Men – mostly used by the Taoist spiritual master
  4. Fei Gong Xiao Qi Men – modified Qi Men popular in Taiwan
